Book, Idiot’s Guide to Astronomy, Alpha Books, 1999, 448 pages, illustrated

448 pages, a very good guide to beginning Astronomy. Yes, some theories have been added to our knowledge since 1999, but nothing very major has changed and the book leaves room for changes to happen. Book includes: 4 reference cards of the night sky in March, June, September & December, 13 page table of contents, Foreward, Introduction, 5 Appendices, Glossary, and a 14-page index. The appendix on upcoming eclipses is obviously out of date, but it's fun to check its accuracy. Interesting chapter on how to use a telescope and how to interpret what you see. All in all, a great book for beginners.
